Good Rainy Morning,
Four more days until the "main event,"  Christmas Day that is.  When you are a child, or if you think as if you were a child, then Christmas is really a big deal.  My children who are a bit older and starting to doubt the reality of someone so wonderful as Santa Clause does really exisit." Well of course he does, is my response." I would certainly dare not entertain such a thought of his being anything but real.  Real is the goodness and kindness that someone so dear as Santa Clause represents and that is inpart what we try to portray everyday.  Is he real- You bet!  Here is a link of a doubting girl who had the courage to ask such a question. Enjoy, Believe!

Sigh.  It has been 5 days since our Country and my  beautiful state of Connecticut suffered such a horriffic tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut.  The days seem filled with such heavy hearts, and teary eyes. Though I did not know any of the members who perished, I feel such grave sorrow for each and every family involved.  I am a mother and could not even imagine all that these families have had to endure. No words can ease the empty space that exists where life and laughter once was.  In trying to put perspective all that has occured during what should be a most festive time of year, I composed a little ode that I plan to share on Christmas Day:

Little Tree that stands so bright
Will you bring joy on Christmas night
With echoed whispers of great sorrow
Please bring hope and peace
For a better tomorrow.
Amen.

Oh happy day!  It was a very busy day.  Really there was no time to indulge in the afternoon luxury of having tea with lemon.  Knowing that I needed to be kind to myself  and sit for a minute as I found myself whirling about in circles and running errands all day,  I  sat down at my computer and decided to look at some Early American Folk Art images for some cherished quiet moments.  I typed in William Matthew Prior.  I love to ooh and aah over folk art portraits from long ago, and voila, I found this sweet little baby image by William Matthew Prior, an Early American Folk Artist.  Incidently, my sister and her family found this above reproduction at an antiques mall.  Knowing how much I love folk art portraits, my sister purchased the reproduction for me as a birthday gift.  I was puzzled as to whom the original artist was, now I know~  My above picture is a reproduction by Delores Stick.  She has done such an amazing job! I am so pleased to have such a work of art!

Hello and welcome to my little neck of the woods.  Today finds itself content in the cool crisp sunshine of a late Autumn day. It is a perfect day to drink in the sunshine from inside while busily preparing for the upcoming holidays.
